The war has just begun!

The war has ended ! This is what most of the poeple living on this planet think ... But the truth is that the war hasen't even started yet ....

It is true that Saddam Hussein is a total dictator and that his people
has been suffering from poverty and illness for the last 24 years of his reign
but it is true also that the States is not there to save the humanity from
sadness and injustice.

We all agree and sympathies with the United States when it bombed
Afghanistan as the events of September 11 are unacceptable.

But were are the Chemical weapons in Iraq? Do u think that the dictator Saddam wouldn't have used them if he had any? And why Iraq? There are even more dangerous weapons in Iran, India, Korea etc. Why do the States have the right to have all sort of weapons and Iraq not?

A lot of questions can be asked in this critical situation of the gulf but only one answer is there .... It is the U.S.A that rule the world and will continue to rule it for longer then we might think!

It is not only fuel which is the major cause of the gulf war that made the States invent a stupid reason for their invasion but it is also the strategically geographic location of Iraq that makes it so precious....

Now the U.S.A is in the heart of the Middle East and the gulf countries ... She rules politically the problems of the middle east by being so close geographically to them and rules economically by putting her hands on the most precious treasure the human has : Fuel!!!

Have the industrial countries such as the European community asked themselves what can be their future if the gallon of fuel is double the price or even three times more?!!!! What can they say if the States has the control over the most important sources of fuel and have decided so ?!!!

I want to make clear that I am not trying to fight the United States. I am not against them in that war ... NOT AT ALL ...

On a humanitarian level, i agree totally that the Iraqi people needed to be free form this dictator, they have the right to live decently and have the right to dream about a better future....So the States in that level have done a great job!!!

As a Lebanese girl, living in Lebanon, the war has and will affect us economically only ... But we're used now to the bad economy so it really does not make all that difference.....

But on a higher level, how the presence of the Americans in the heart of the middle east will affect us ?!!! This is a question that only time can answer......

On a very personal point of view , I see that the Americans will surely bring to this part of the world some civilization and technology along with open societies that can meet up the new millennium...

Something we should remember:

Vegetarians eat Vegetables, BEWARE the man who claims to be a Humanitarian.

The solution of this problem is trival and is left as an exercise for the reader.

because I hate plants." - A. Whitney Brown

Back to the war
"The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other
bastard die for his."
General George Patton (1885-1945)

Another quote that can be related to the war
"The only two things that are infinite in size are the universe and human
stupidity. And I'm not completely sure about the universe." -Albert Einstein

A war does not decide who is right
it only says who is left

Hey Jonah I missed your first comment. Have you been reading maths texts lately? Hilarious! Actually I think you should have shown how to solve some minor specialized form of conflict, for instance people fighting over whose turn it is to make coffee (Linus would probably solve that by destroying the coffee maker ;). Then after that you could state: "generalizing these concepts to war-scale conflicts is trivial and left as an excercise for the reader".

Oskar->Actually I was referring to your thoughts about vegetarians and humanitarians, but it might be interesting to think about it your way. I would be quite an exercise for the reader to solve a war.

I'm not able to see the connection between my vegetarian/humanitarian comment and "left as an exercise for the reader", care to elaborate?

I just realised that I misspelled "exercise" as "excercise", so now that I've admitted that I can put on my "sp34ling n4z1"-glasses without scaring everybody.

I mean please people:
weird
weird
weird
weird
weird
weird
weird
(neural studies have shown that no less than seven repetitions of a stimulus was enough to make a pattern modification permanent in an isolated piece of living nerve cells).

So, please, NOT wierd, thank you.

Well, my thoughts at the moment of writing were kind of "If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?"
An when I think about it, yes you did misspell exercise! Looosachh! Don't tell me ev'rything I've misspelled, please...

Oskar
If you read my original comment you might notice that there is no explicit question spelled out. That's what got me confused.

This Jessika is very cute, does she have a sister?
L
linus
No, but she has a brother. What makes you think her sister would have been even cuter?
J
Jorma
With the publicity she's got here she's probably not available anymore, but her sister might still be.
L
linus
HAAH ha HAHAHAHA! That was a good one. I hope Jessika won't mind that I reveal she certainly is still single.

I could add a serious comment to this article for change. I believe that American presence in the middle east will lead to more arabian terrorism. Why? Because one has to hate someone pretty strongly to be willing to die killing them, which is what the most dangerous terrorists do. If the US really wanted to reduce terrorism, they'd leave the middle east alone, but I guess that's not feasible from a strategic point of view.
J

Hate, such an interesting word. Often it is used for something annoying, sometimes if you slightly dislike something/someone. Usually it's just an expression for what you are feeling at the moment. I guess these terrorists really do have a candid and open kind of hate against the United States. Where does it come from, you say? Well, one thing's for sure, it isn't Jesus! Love the one you hate!
"Din kärlek till din fiende kommer att vara som glödande kol på hans huvud", as the Bible says.

Jag kände mig tvungen att söka reda på den omnämnda texten för att kunna återge den mera exakt. Den finns alltså i Rom.12:20 eller Ords.25:21-22, och lyder som följer:
"Men om din fiende är hungrig, så ge honom att äta, om han är törstig, ge honom att dricka. Gör du det, samlar du glödande kol på hans huvud."
